A beautiful saying to brighten your day...

One of our Muslim anscestors said:
"How sweet Eman is when it's beautified with Knowledge.
And how sweet Knowledge is when it's beautified with Implementation.
And how sweet Implementation is when it's beautified with Kindness.

The greatest pair of things is Implementation coupled with Kindness."

Reminder: The Death of the Prophet's Son

When the Prophet's infant son Ibraheem was ill, our Sayyida Mariyah, radi Allahu 'anha, called for Allah's Messenger to come quickly.

When Allah's Messenger, sal Allahu alayhi wa sallam, arrived, baby Ibraheem was in his final breaths of life.

... now think for a moment, May Allah protect you and your family.
Imagine your son's infant body in your arms cradle.
His eyes bulging, gasping for breath, face turning blue. Dying.
In your hands.

And there is nothing you can do...
except surrender to Allah's Will, with full submission.

This is what Allah's Messenger, sal Allahu alayhi wa sallam, experienced.

Tears spilled down Allah's Messenger's cheeks. The Sahabah, our Sayyids, flanked the Prophet, sal Allahu alayhi wa sallam, and they asked him about the tears. With the tears streaming down his cheeks, he said, sal Allahu alayhi wa sallam, "

The Eyes Tear
The Heart is in Pain
But (with my tongue) I will only say that which is pleasing to Allah
And we are indeed sad at your departure, O Ibraheem

Lesson: When someone experiences a death in the family, you have access to 4 body parts:
1. Eyes; 2. Heart; 3. Tongue; 4. Hands

It is permissible to cry with the eyes.
>>So next time you see someone crying at the death of a loved one, you don't have to insist that they stop crying.

It is permissible to feel sadness in the heart.
>>So next time you see someone sad at the death of a loved one, you don't have to 'reprimand' them.

But it is with the TONGUE and/or Hands that one either wins the mercy of Allah, or slips in to displeasing Allah. (With hands one must not slap their face, pull at their clothes or hair)

If you've been through a calamity, you cannot bring back what was lost.
But there is an infinite reward of PATIENCE that is awaiting your tongue's response.

My advice to you, dear brother and sister, is that there is nothing to gain by missing out
on being patient during this difficult time. Be Patient, and Say the Most Pleasing Thing to Allah, "

Inna lillaahi wa inna ilayhi raaji'oon
"We are all Allah's property, and we will all surely return to Him."

[Unveiled] Grandaddy Excuse of All Time ...

Ok, the veil has been uncovered and the word is out ...
The Granddaddy excuse of all time is, "I'd love to, really, I really would ... I JUST DO NOT HAVE ANY TIME!!!"

As in:
"I'd like to attend an Islamic class this weekend, but I've just got so many things to do."
"I'd like to buckle down and get proactive in getting married, but I'm just so busy with school."
"I have big da'wah dreams, but I'm just so busy with everyday life."
"I'd like to spend more time with my kids, but I just don't know where the time goes."

ERADICATING THE "TIME" EXCUSES
Here's how we are going to do it, in sha Allah:
>> Starting this Wednesday, and throughout the month, I'm going to be focusing on this topic of time in my emails, blog posts, webinars, etc.

>> I'm preparing a 7 part blog series, complete with graphics, to give you the most important of important time tactics

>> I'm going to prepare a power webinar on the topic

>> And for those who want to rev it to the next level, this will correspond to the first-time-ever release of the complete DiscoverU seminar entitled "Live Your Dreams", which I've renamed (with the help of Siraaj, hafidhahullah) "Time Traveller" <-- that's British spelling.

Are ya lovin' it? Here's the blog address where this is all going down:

[Urgent] Fasting Sunday Dec.27, Ashura...

Just wanted to thank brother Sami (http://www.facebook.com/nationbuilder.prime) who reminded me to remind you about fasting Sunday Dec.27, 2009 ~ Ashura, the 10th of Allah's sacred month of Muharram.

The Prophet, sal Allahu alayhi wa sallam, was very keen to fast on this day - so we too should be keen to fast it.
Ibn Abbas, radi Allahu 'anhu, said: “I never saw Allah's Messenger, sal Allahu alayhi wa sallam, so keen to fast any day and give it priority over any other than this day, the day of ‘Aashooraa’, and this month, meaning Ramadaan.” - Bukhari

The Arabic word for 10 is 'Asharah.
Ashooraa' literally means: the TENTH, i.e. in this case the 10th of the Islamic calendar month of Muharram.
When Allah's Messenger, sal Allahu alayhi wa sallam, moved to Madinah, he found the non-Muslims there celebrating on that day. Their reasoning? Because, they said, that this was the day Allah saved Musa from Fir'own.

Allah's Messenger, sal Allahu alayhi wa sallam, responded by venerating this day through fasting, and commanded the Muslims to fast on this day as well. (But to be different from others by fasting an 'additional' day, before the 10th.  But it's alright if you didn't fast Saturday Dec.26, you can still fast Ashura.)

Action requested:
*******************
What: Fast on Ashura, which is the 10th of the Islamic calendar month of Muharram.
Who: YOU :)
When: Sunday, December 27, 2009 (From Fajr till Maghrib)
Why: Because the Prophet, sal Allahu alayhi wa sallam, did it, was very keen to do it, and encouraged his Ummah to do it. And because it wipes away the previous years sins.

With best wishes to see you succeed at the highest level!
